Experience: 3–5+ years professional work experience

Reports to: Executive Director

APFE will consider part-time and full-time applicants; salary based on employment status and experience.

Why This Role Matters

Atlanta Partners for Education is the foundation arm of Atlanta Public Schools. Our mission is to bring external philanthropic resources into the district for opportunity, innovation, and equity that otherwise APS students could not access. The Grant Associate helps turn those dollars into real impact—stronger programs, better student outcomes, and clearer evidence that investments are making a difference through the intersection of writing, data, and strategy. You will help tell the story of what’s working in Atlanta’s Public Schools, ensure funders see the return on their investments, and support long-term sustainability for initiatives that matter most to students, educators, and families.

Role Overview

The Grant Associate supports the full lifecycle of grants, from proposal development through reporting and closeout. This is a hands-on, relationship-based role ideal for someone who enjoys writing, organizing information, strategic planning and learning how philanthropy, public education, and data intersect. Working closely with Foundation colleagues and Atlanta Public Schools staff, the Grant Associate helps gather data, translate outcomes into compelling narratives, and keep grants and funded programs on track. This position is designed for someone interested in growing their skills over time and building a long-term career in educational philanthropy.
